Davao's P Park (People's Park)

People’s Park is situated in the heart of the downtown area and is just in front of Casa Leticia, near Apo View Hotel. It is a four-hectare Park which was formerly known as the PTA grounds. This huge park was opened last December 15, 2007. With a P70 million plus worth park, People's Park showcases a mini forest, interactive fountains, ponds and waterfalls with live animals, a durian dome, a shady and open plaza, a statue of a gigantic Philippine eagle and a fantasy-themed park (depending on the festivities or celebration in the city) with large sculptures made by the Mindanaon artist Kublai Millan representing indigenous groups in Southern Mindanao.

Ppark, is a man-made creation and is remarkably well-maintained with clean comfort rooms. Provided with park security or rangers patrolling round-the-clock in the place. The park is also equipped with monitoring cameras just to keep the premises monitored and secured, and to prevent "illicit activities" inside the park. There were more than 1,000 species of wild plants and trees gathered in the park from the dark rainforests of Africa, Madagascar, New Guinea, Borneo, Indonesia, Central America, Australia and the Philippines have been planted all over the area. Most of these plants and trees were donated by some private sectors, not to mention, the famous Ayala family.
The entrance of the park is free of charge. People all walks of life can greatly enjoy the sights and relax over the very nature-like ambiance and immense atmosphere within the area. Visitors may do picnic with family and friends while children can freely enjoy its themed big playing area. Aside from that, lovers can also have sweet moments over the benches or in the garden while capturing superb memories using their videos and digital cameras.

Davao's Tayo ay Dabawenyo Theme Song

Here's the video and the lyrics of Tayo'y Dabawenyo. Let us sing along with this heartwarming song. A credit to the ones who composed and produced the song.
